DEAR COMRADES,

 

I ANNOUNCED MY CANDIDACY FOR DEPARTMENT OF GEORGIA JUDGE ADVOCATE 2003 - 2004 AT THE FEBRUARY 15, 2003 COUNCIL OF ADMINISTRATION IN MACON AND AM ENCLOSING THE RESOLUTION AND ENDORSEMENT FROM BOTH MY POST AND DISTRICT.

I RESPECTFULLY REQUEST THAT YOU PRESENT THIS ANNOUNCEMENT OF MY CANDIDACY TO YOUR POST/DISTRICT MEMBERS . I WILL BE HONORED TO HELP CONTINUE THE EFFORT OF KEEPING THE DEPARTMENT OF GEORGIA GOING IN A POSITIVE DIRECTION.

I AM ASKING FOR YOUR SUPPORT, HELP, ADVICE AND ASSISTANCE IN ATTAINING THIS POSITION. NOTHING WOULD GIVE ME GREATER SATISFACTION THAN BEING THE NEXT DEPARTMENT OF GEORGIA JUDGE ADVOCATE AND WITH YOUR ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT, THIS CAN BE ACHIEVED.

RESOLUTION

TO:ALL POST COMMANDERS, DISTRICT COMMANDERS, DEPARTMENT OFFICERS AND PAST
DEPARTMENT COMMANDERS. THE FOLLOWING IS SUBMITTED FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION.

WHEREAS: He has served as District 17 senior Vice Commander and Commander
for 2 years and 7th District Commander for 2 years and

WHEREAS: He has achieved All State Team for 17th District,
Captain AllState Team 7th District and

WHEREAS: He has achieved Outstanding District Commander in the 7th District and

WHEREAS: He has served on numerous committees at the state level and

WHEREAS: He has served as National Aide-de-Camp and

WHEREAS: He has served on the National Security Committee and

WHEREAS: He annually solicits donations from the district posts for the VFW National Home and

WHEREAS: He served in the U. S. Army from 1963 - 1965 at Ft Lewis. He
reentered the U. S. Army in 1966, attended Aircraft Maintenance School at
Ft. Rucker, Alabama, served as Commanding General's Crew Chief at Ft Benning,
Georgia, went to Vietnam in 1967 - 68 as Flight Line Chief and Maintenance NCO and

WHEREAS: He served as Commanding General's Crew Chief of
EMTMTS, Brooklyn, NY, 1968 - 1970 and

WHEREAS: He returned to Vietnam in 1970 - 71 and served on Lockheed
Experimental Aircraft Team. He returned to Ft Huachuca, Arizona in 1971 to
serve as Flight Engineer on flying classroom as well as Maintenance NCO
on fixed wing and rotor aircraft and

WHEREAS: He was honorably discharged in August 1974 as SSG, E-6.

BE IS RESOLVED: That George Edward Smith Dalton Post 4985 at a regular meeting held on the 4th day of March 2003, did unanimously endorse and recommend Comrade Ralph E. Thomas for the Office of Department Judge Advocate, Department of Georgia, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States for the year 2003 - 2004.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Georgia 7th District at a regular meeting on February 15, 2003, did fully endorse and recommend Comrade Ralph E. Thomas for the Officer of Department Judge Advocate, Department of Georgia Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. The Seventh District humbly requests and solicits your vote and support on his behalf at the Georgia VFW Convention to be held in Macon, Georgia in June 2003.
